Arkansas Union Offers Free Conference

The Arkansas Union invites any interested students, faculty, or staff at the University of Arkansas to participate for free in the virtual Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Region II Conference, this Nov. 4-5. This conference, being held online for the first time ever, brings together community builders and campus programmers from the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri.

Typical educational session topics include student leadership, campus activities, space design and management, team development, social justice, and other topics related to building and maintaining diverse, active communities on campus.

"The Union is pleased to offer this conference to the entire campus, for free" said Rob Stagni, director of the Arkansas Union. "It's our hope that folks around the university will take this opportunity, attend a few educational sessions, and have some great ideas to bring to their respective units… all for absolutely no cost." Previously, the conference has cost between $100-250 per person, but the Union has paid this year's institutional registration, resulting in a free opportunity for the entire campus. The University of Arkansas hosted the ACUI Region II Conference in 2019 and has won awards for staff and programs held on campus at past conferences.

Any interested parties must still register for the conference using their UARK email address, although they will not be charged for attending. Information about the conference, including relevant dates and educational information, can be found at the ACUI regional conference website.
