CAPS Giving Out Student Mental Health Kits This Week

This week, Pat Walker Health Center's Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) is giving away mental health kits to University of Arkansas students.

CAPS recognize students may be struggling right in the midst of navigating a truly one-of-a-kind fall semester, so the kits include some fun, light-hearted items such as hand lotion, sleep masks, lip balm, a coloring book, journal, , snacks and more.

Students that would like to pick up a kit can pick one up outside Pat Walker Health Center during the following dates/times:

  • Monday, Sept. 28 — 2-4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 29 — 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 1 — 10 a.m. to noon

Kits are first-come, first-serve — limit 1 per student. Only 300 kits are available.

COVID-19 precautions: Wear a face covering; maintain 6 feet social distancing; wash your hands or use hand sanitizer. Please do not stop by the pickup if you are sick. CAPS ambassadors will ensure frequently touched surfaces are cleaned. Student ID required.

CAPS remains more committed than ever to supporting students during these unprecedented and challenging times. Students struggling with mental health concerns are encouraged to reach out to CAPS for support at 479-575-5276. CAPS offers tele-mental health services and virtual support and process groups.
