Teaching and Faculty Support Center to Host Live, Online Presentations on Wednesday and Thursday

The Wally Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center will host two live, online presentations during this week. These presentations will feature discussions about technology tools for connecting with students at a distance and the University's response to the coronavirus/COVID-19 crisis.

At noon Wednesday, April 15, Kate Shoulders, associate professor of agricultural education, communications and technology, will present "Getting Closer through Distance: Using Technology to Connect with Students." This presentation and subsequent discussion will describe how faculty can maintain connections with and between students as we teach remotely.

At 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, the Teaching and Faculty Support Center will host a program titled "Coronavirus and the University: A Conversation with Chancellor Steinmetz." This session will be an opportunity for faculty to hear from Chancellor Joe Steinmetz and engage in a conversation about how the university is responding to this ongoing crisis.

Faculty can participate in either of these sessions by logging on to Blackboard (learn.uark.edu). If you have signed up to be a member of the Wally Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center online community, this link will appear under "Non-Credit Courses." Open the link, click on the "Virtual Meeting" link, and then click on the specific meeting you wish to join. Each meeting will open to participants 15 minutes before the official start time, so join early for informal conversation with your faculty colleagues prior to the program.

If you are not a member of the TFSC Online Community, but would like to join over 200 faculty colleagues who are, send Lori Libbert an email at TFSC@uark.edu and ask her to sign you up. We would love to have you!
