Enrollment Open for Self-Paced Online Courses Final Spring Session
The University of Arkansas Global Campus is now accepting requests for enrollment in Self-Paced Online Courses for the final spring session, which begins Friday, April 24, and ends Tuesday, July 14. The deadline to submit a request for enrollment for the spring session is Friday, April 10.
U of A colleges and schools offer college credit through these web-based courses, which range from children's literature to macroeconomics.
Self-paced courses offer the most flexibility of any university credit course, while meeting the same academic standards as face-to-face or traditional online courses. Self-paced courses also allow students to set their own learning tempos, rather than following structured learning environments led by faculty or instructors.
Students are not required to be formally admitted to the university to take self-paced courses, but students should consult with an academic adviser regarding course selection to ensure courses will count toward their degree requirements.
Students should be aware that self-paced courses require a high degree of self-discipline and most require proctored online exams. Enrollment sessions are approximately 12 weeks in length, and students who have submitted work in a self-paced course and do not drop the course by the deadline must be assigned a final grade of A, B, C, D or F, which will appear on their U of A transcripts.
