University of Arkansas Young Democrats Announce Food Pantry on Dickson Street

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Young Democrats, the Democratic Socialists of NWA and the Young Democrats of Arkansas announced the establishment of a food pantry in response of coronavirus (COVID-19) to help those impacted by the pandemic in the Northwest Arkansas area. 

The food pantry is located at the UARK Historic Theater, 647 W. Dickson St. Anyone interested in helping can donate or volunteer. For information on how to volunteer, visit tinyurl.com/fayfoodbank.

Donations will be accepted every day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., as well as pick-up periods from 4-8 p.m. 

Pick up your food: Pick up is available every day from 4-8 p.m.

No proof of need, documentation or residency required.

The most wanted food donation list consists of rice, beans, pasta, soups, canned meats, canned vegetables, canned fruit, diapers and pet food.

The organizations are also asking for the local community to also help contribute to coronavirus preparedness kits if able, which consists of hand sanitizer and cleaning disinfectant.
