Interactive Film Screening: Do The Right Thing

Join the IDEALS Institute for an interactive screening of the Academy Award-nominated Spike Lee joint, Do The Right Thing, which will be shown from 7-9:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville.

Punctuated by the anthem of Public Enemy's "Fight the Power," Do the Right Thing is a landmark in American cinema, as politically and emotionally charged and as relevant now as when it first premiered in 1989.

Co-hosted by the IDEALS Institute at the University of Arkansas, Crystal Bridges, and the Walmart African American Business Resource Group, this interactive screening will allow you to experience the film through various characters' eyes and will include two short intermission breaks to encourage discussion of key moments in the film. Come dressed in your early '90s best, grab a friend, and maybe a boom box to experience this Spike Lee classic like never before.

The IDEALS Institute at the University of Arkansas serves as a hub of training, research and support for diversity and inclusion efforts across the state. Facilitators for the evening include Anne Shelley, Magdalena Arroyo and Rickey Booker Jr.
