U of A Startup Village Accepting Applications for Membership

The U of A Startup Village is calling all startup companies with a U of A affiliation interested in:

• Free operational space for your company
• A physical mailing address
• Collaborating with other startup founders
• Convenient access to entrepreneurial support services and training opportunities in downtown Fayetteville

If any of those benefits sound interesting to you, the Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Office of Technology Ventures want to hear from you! We are accepting applications for Startup Village membership and have a handful of remaining slots available.

This unique space, located at the corner of Dickson and Block, is intended to support seed-stage companies as they work toward financial viability. Along with free work space, a full kitchen and facility management for your company's designated area, you will also gain 24/7 access to the Brewer Family Entrepreneurship Hub located just off the Fayetteville Square. At this location you can engage in training and mentoring through workshops, events and the Friday afternoon Office Hours program. The Arkansas Small Business & Technology Development Center, located in the same building as the Startup Village, also provides free consultation and market research for local businesses.

The community that the Startup Village has supporting it provides an opportunity for you as a founder to grow and for your company to thrive. Current Startup Village member companies include:

  • A technology company providing on-demand manufacturing using swarm 3D printing and assembly.

  • A 3D-printed robotics education platform designed to teach coding, engineering and 3D printing and design skills to students of all ages.
• Genome X
  • A biomedical company producing a nanochannel DNA sequencer for genomic analysis and diagnostics.
• ShopTimely
  • Right Price, Right Time: Searching Amazon, Walmart & Target to find the best price and the best time to buy.
• NTS Innovations
  • A technology company producing a Graphene Energy Harvesting chip that can generate power using ambient temperature fluctuations.
• RF Pyramids
  • A technology company developing radio-frequency electronic devices and circuits for wireless communication and 5G telecommunication systems.

The requirements for this space include:

• An association to the U of A as a student, faculty, alumn or an active license for intellectual property owned by the U of A.
• Your company must be legally recognized by the government (for example, as an LLC).
• Your team should be prepared to spend at least 20+ hours in the space per week.
• Your company must have liability insurance.
