Fuller Named Engineering Staff Member of Quarter

Kimberley Fuller

Kimberley Fuller has been selected as College of Engineering Staff Member of the Quarter for the second quarter of fiscal year 2020.

Fuller, who serves as research coordinator in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, was honored for her work supporting faculty and staff members.

Her role includes providing support for research proposals, grant management and research programs. She also coordinates all aspects of laboratory safety for the department, including helping faculty, staff and students successfully complete safety training.

Fuller has been the biomedical engineering research coordinator for two and half years. Her office is at the Engineering Research Center at the Arkansas Research and Technology Park.

Her presence in the department has allowed researchers to focus exclusively on the science while not having to contend with the heavy document load required for each grant application. Some grants involve multiple institutions, which require subcontracts and budget reconciliation in time for submission. Fuller shoulders all of this responsibility and has allowed seamless grant submissions to Razorgrant and grants.gov.

"Based on her ability to balance multiple responsibilities with confidence and calm, Kimberley is a tremendous asset to our department," said Raj Rao, professor and head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering. "She is constantly on the lookout for solutions that benefit the department that thus makes her presence of prime importance to the smooth functioning of the department."

Originally from Nova Scotia, Canada, Fuller has a master's degree in Business Administration from Saint Mary's University, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Statistics from Dalhousie University in Halifax. Her previous experience includes survey design and data analysis for quantitative market research, corporate competitive intelligence and market opportunity analysis, and developing and writing commercialization plans for small business (SBIR and STTR) funding.
