Enrollment Services Raises Funds for EOA Children's House

Staff members from Enrollment Services deliver gifts to Children's House

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Every two weeks, staff in Enrollment Services might look a little less business casual than they do most days - and all for a good reason. During the division's "Jeans Day" fundraiser, happening every other Thursday since 2003, staff members wear jeans to work and contribute a dollar to support EOA Children's House, a local charity. During the holiday season each year, Enrollment Services uses the collected funds to provide clothing and gifts for children in the area.

In 2019, Enrollment Services staff members raised over $1,000, enough to provide clothing and gifts for numerous families.

"We are extremely fortunate for the generosity and continued support of Enrollment Services at the University of Arkansas, as well as the many other individuals and organizations who have given time and funding to Children's House," said Lance Johnson, program director of EOA Children's Services. "Each gift provides a child with an opportunity to extend learning and family engagement in their home."

"Enrollment Services is dedicated to serving communities throughout the state, and Children's House is an excellent partner in this. Everyone on our team enjoys pitching in to make a difference each year," said Suzanne McCray, vice provost of enrollment services and dean of admissions. "We are especially grateful to Kathi Davidson, who organizes the fundraiser for Enrollment Services, as well as to all those who have given, both in our office and across campus."

Founded in 1978, EOA Children's House provides services and support to children under the age of five who have faced abuse, neglect, or other adverse experiences. The organization is one of the nation's largest long-term centers for early childhood abuse prevention and treatment, and the only center of its kind in Arkansas.
