Melissa Womble, director of Inova Sports Medicine's comprehensive concussion program in Fairfax, Virginia, will present a free lecture on Friday at the University of Arkansas.

Womble, a clinical neuropsychologist, will discuss concussion management, focusing on clinical profiles to guide individualized treatment plans. The free guest lecture series is hosted by the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation.

Womble will present from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, in the Jerry and Gene Jones Family Student-Athlete Success Center Auditorium.

Faculty, students, clinicians and coaches with an interest in sports medicine, psychology, physical therapy and sport-related concussion are invited to attend.

"Dr. Womble's clinical approach to concussion is cutting edge, and her success in creating a specialty clinic for patients with concussion gives her a great perspective on how to address barriers to care for this injury," said R.J. Elbin, director of the Office for Sport Concussion Research at the University of Arkansas. "This information will be of great use to the medical community in Northwest Arkansas."
