Barbara Lofton, director of Diversity and Inclusion at Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, will present the John H. Johnson Entrepreneur Award during the John H. Johnson Day celebration, Friday, Nov. 1.

The celebration to honor the founder, publisher, chairman and chief executive officer of Johnson Publishing Company, will be held at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, 501 W. Ninth St., Little Rock at 5:30 p.m.

John H. Johnson Day was established April 16, 2019, during the 92nd Arkansas General Assembly.

Lofton will present the John H. Johnson Entrepreneur Award to Eddie and Sherra Armstrong of the Cannabis Capital Corporation.

Johnson published both Ebony and Jet magazines and his publishing company was once the largest black-owned publishing company in the world. The university award Johnson an honorary Doctor of Laws in 2002. He was inducted into the Arkansas Business Hall of Fame in 2001.
