VAC Hosts Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities
Tomorrow, the Volunteer Action Center will host this semester's second Find Your Impact session from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Pat Walker Health Center room 1116. This month's panel includes representatives from the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks and Turpentine Creek Wildlife Preserve. Students will learn how the organizations conserve and protect the environment locally and discover what types of volunteer projects they have available.
This year all of the FYI meetings focus on a different sustainable development goal. For October the goals are "life on land" and "life below water," which both focus on conserving and protecting nature and creating more sustainable ecosystems. To find out how you can serve the environment locally sign up for the session on GivePulse.
Applications are also open for Make a Difference Day 2019. Join the VAC on Oct. 26 for this campus-wide day of service. Students, faculty, staff and community members can volunteer with partner agencies across northwest Arkansas. Projects are available on and off campus and transportation to sites can be arranged. Kick-off starts at 8 a.m. with free breakfast for volunteers, who will pick up a t-shirt and meet with their project leaders before moving to the project site. Browse open opportunities and sign up now on GivePulse.
