Razorback Food Recovery Hosts Conference on Food Waste
Razorback Food Recovery hosts "In Good Waste," a food waste summit from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, April 22, at the Pryor Center for Oral and Visual History on the Fayetteville Square. The event, for business professionals and members of the food industry in northwest Arkansas, focuses on how to reduce food waste and promote sustainable practices.
The schedule of events begins with registration, refreshments, welcome and lectures on the importance of food sustainability in our community. The program finishes with lunch, breakout sessions, and panel discussions that afternoon. This event is cosponsored by Chartwells, the University of Arkansas campus dining service and is tailored to the needs of the environment as well as the needs of local business owners in northwest Arkansas.
Razorback Food Recovery is a signature program of the University of Arkansas' Volunteer Action Center, a student-led organization dedicated to providing service opportunities on campus and in the community. Razorback Food Recovery recovers surplus food on the UA campus and redistributes it to those in need.
