March 29 Application Deadline to Meet With Former First Lady Laura Bush

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Applications for students interested in participating in a forum with former first lady Laura Bush are now available through the Office of Student Activities' HogSync portal. Students should log in with a valid "uark.edu" email address and must complete the application form no later than 11:59 p.m. Friday, March 29, to be considered for the event.
Mrs. Bush will be on campus Thursday, April 18, as part of the student-sponsored Distinguished Lecture Series. She will meet with a small group of students for a townhall-style Q&A prior to her public lecture that evening. The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in Bud Walton Arena.
Distinguished Lectures is a committee of students and faculty that organizes major speakers on campus each year. It is run through the Office of Student Activities in the Division of Student Affairs. Applications for membership on the 2019-20 committee are available now and must be submitted by 5 p.m. Monday, April 1.

As first lady, she advanced literacy and education to support America's young people. Today, as the chair of the Woman's Initiative at the George W.
