Decision Day, when students choose their field of engineering, is the grand finale of Engine Week.

Engine Week returns from Feb. 25 to March 1 with activities designed to celebrate the field of engineering in society.

The campus community is invited to celebrate Engine Week with the Engineering Student Council with food, games and professional development opportunities.

The tradition of Engine Week began at the University of Arkansas in 1909.

The schedule of events:

Monday, Feb. 25:

  • Donuts with BAE — 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. BELL Ramp
    Join the BioAg Engineering Student Club for free hot chocolate, coffee and donut holes!
  • TBP Game Night — 5-6 p.m. BELL: Check Hogsync for details
    Tau Beta Pi is hosting a game night for all students! Come play video and board games, make friends, and eat some free food!

Tuesday, Feb. 26

  • OSTEM Queer Coffee — 8-10 a.m. Bell Ramp
    Join Out in STEM for free coffee and good conversation!
  • ASME Mock Interviews — 1-5 p.m. MEEG 109 Labs
    Join the Arkansas Academy of Mechanical Engineers for Resume Reviews and walk-in mock interviews! Bring you resume and come as you are!

Wednesday, Feb. 27

  • Popcorn with IISE — 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Breezeway outside Imhoff lounge 
  • SWE and Phi Sigma Rho: Women in Leadership — 5-6:30 p.m. Bell 1108G
    Come join us to talk with professionals about what it means to be a leader. Raising Cane's will be provided!
  • ASME Mock Interviews — 2-6:30 p.m. MEEG 109 Labs
    Join the Arkansas Academy of Mechanical Engineers for Resume Reviews and walk-in mock interviews! Bring you resume and come as you are! Free pizza provided!

Thursday, Feb. 28

  • SHPE Questions and Comida — noon to 2 p.m. Bell Ramp
    Spin the wheel, answer a STEM trivia question, and win some free food!
  • HKN: How to Start a Business — 5-6 p.m. Bell 2267
    Follow uark_engstuco on Instagram for updates and more information!
  • A.P.M.: Deans College Update 5:30-6:30 p.m. Bell 2282
    Come enjoy a free dinner while Dean English gives an update on the future of the College of Engineering.

Friday, March 1: Decision Day!

  • AISES: Dipping with the Deans — noon to 2 p.m. Bell Ramp 
    Join the American Indian Science and Engineering Society and the College of Engineering for free ice cream! Be early to secure your scoop!
  • Decision Day — 12:55-5 p.m. Bell 2282 
    Let's finish ENGINE week strong by cheering on our first-year engineering students as they declare their majors! Everyone is welcome to join!
