Fayetteville Policies and Procedures: New Policy and Revisions
Feb. 15, 2019
The Fayetteville campus has adopted a new policy:
- 219.4 Secure Passwords and Passphrases
- This policy was implemented to comply with the most recent National Institute of Standards and Technology guidelines for passwords and passphrases.
The following Fayetteville Policy and Procedures have been revised:
- 214.1 Discrimination (Including Discriminatory Harassment) - Employment, Education, Programs and Services
- The purpose of this revision is threefold:
- To better calibrate the existing policy to federal requirements about discrimination and discriminatory harassment
- To provide clarity and definition based on feedback and requests by units on campus and give supervisors the ability to address issues that may not be explicit violations of policy, but are not appropriate
- To embed some new agency disclosure requirements that have been added in the past 6 months or so and are anticipated to be in effect this month on the federal level.
- The purpose of this revision is threefold:
- 401.0 Advertising of University Positions
- This policy has been updated to create a more efficient process for recruiting staff employees. For staff positions, the minimum posting time requirement for external job postings has been decreased, and the minimum posting time requirement for internal job postings has been increased. This harmonizes the posting time requirement to seven calendar days for both external and internal staff job postings.
The following Policy Document has also been revised:
- 702.1 Policy Document - Building Executives and Alternates List
- This policy document has been updated to reflect changes in building personnel on campus. Please use the search function of this policy document to see if your Building Executive and Alternate have changed.
All policies may be viewed on the web at Fayetteville Policies and Procedures.
