The deadline for nominations to the 2019 Alumni Awards of the College of Education and Health Professions is Friday, Feb. 15. Recommendations from faculty, students, staff and the community are encouraged.
Three people are named each year, representing both halves of the college plus a noteworthy recent graduate.
The categories are:
- Outstanding Alumni Award in Education recognizes a graduate with exceptional professional and personal achievement and extraordinary distinction in the education professions
- Outstanding Alumni Award in Health and Human Services recognizes a graduate with exceptional professional and personal achievement and extraordinary distinction in the health and human service professions
- Outstanding Young Alumni Award recognizes an individual who graduated within the past 10 years and is engaged in their first career, and has demonstrated exceptional professional and personal achievement and extraordinary distinction in the education or health and human service professions
Nominations are made with an online form.
The Dean's Advisory Council of the college established the awards in 2011. Dean Michael T. Miller and a committee of the council select the recipients. Nominations are kept in a pool for two years. Recipients will be honored at the college's spring commencement as well as at its annual Alumni Awards reception during commencement weekend.
Further details about the honor and lists of past recipients can be found on the college's website.
