One week prior to phones arriving in your office signs like these will be displayed throughout your building.

After months of planning and preparation, the first group of VoIP phones will be distributed to campus this week.

On Monday, Feb. 4, new desk phones will be delivered in 18 buildings starting with J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. Center for Academic Excellence (JBHT) and Uptown East and West (UPTE and UPTW).

"We recognize this is a big change for our campus, but it is one that will move us forward as a university when it comes to communication," said Stephen Herzig, director of enterprise systems. Adding, "IT leadership from the colleges and departments around campus have been incredibly supportive of this project to ensure deployment is a success. We are grateful for their support."

IT Services is working with Next Step Innovation to install more than 5,700 phones to campus, between February and May. The VoIP Solution project provides a digital communication service that will make it easier for faculty and staff to stay connected, whether in the office, classroom or on the go. The remain buildings scheduled for week one include: Walton College of Business buildings (WCOB, RCED and WJWH), Davis Hall, Global Campus, Gibson Annex, Hunt Hall, Kimpel Hall, Mcllroy House, Sustainability House, Brough Commons, Buchanan-Droke, Gladson-Ripley, Humphreys Hall and Yocum Hall.

Sixteen buildings, including Arkansas Union, are scheduled to receive phones the week of Feb. 11. View upcoming dates and progress on the VoIP progress map.

Per request, IT Services will host an additional phone bar at the Tech Spot in the Arkansas Union on Wednesday, Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by this final demo to ask questions about deployment and learn more about phone features.
