Chancellor Invites Students to Chat, Share Ideas About Campus Today

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Chancellor Joe Steinmetz invites students to attend an informal discussion about student life, campus ideas and other topics of interest at a Chancellor Chat with students at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, in the upper Hillside Auditorium.

“I’m always interested in what’s on the minds of our students, and often they have great ideas about how to make this university even better,” Steinmetz said. “Talking to students is an excellent way to find out what we’re doing well, areas that need improvement and emerging issues we may not even be aware of yet.”

To get the conversation started, Steinmetz plans to ask students a few broad questions including the following:

• What do you think the university does well?
• What do you think is the number one issue you face as students?
• What do you see as impediments to your success?
• Outside of academics, what is your number one frustration on campus?
• What is something that may be totally off our radar that you think we should be aware of?

All students are welcome to attend this free event. Coffee and cookies will be served while supplies last.

Chancellor Steinmetz also hosts small groups of students for coffee and casual conversations several times a year and meets regularly with undergraduate and graduate student government representatives.
