Gibson Serving on Panel on Food Safety Tonight for KUAR Science Café

Kristen Gibson, an associate professor of molecular food safety and microbiology in the Department of Food Science, will be one of three panelists to serve on the You Are How You Eat – Food Safety panel hosted by KUAR's Science Café from 7-9 p.m. today, Jan. 22. Gibson is the recipient of multiple USDA grants and her research focuses on the fate and transport of pathogens within food systems with a focus on human noroviruses and fresh produce as well as retail food safety.

Panelists will discuss food choices and the handling, preparation, and storage of food to prevent food-borne illness. The other panelists include Renee Smith, director, Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management, UA Pulaski Tech, Little Rock; and Tracie Wilson, environmental health specialist, Faulkner County Health Unit, Arkansas Department of Health, Conway.
