2018-19 UA Schola Cantorum

This December, there are four chances to hear the distinct sounds of the season performed by Department of Music students in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences' UA Choral Studies program on campus and in Fayetteville.

Performances include:

  • Dec. 1, 7:30 p.m. — The Collegiate Chorale and Chamber Choir will give a joint concert featuring holiday works past and present, including Vince Guaraldi's famous "Linus and Lucy" from "A Charlie Brown Christmas," at the Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center.
  • Dec. 4, 7:30 p.m. — The Inspirational Chorale presents "An Inspired Christmas" that puts a Gospel twist on traditional tunes, including a full rock band on stage with the choir, at the Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center.
  • Dec. 6, 7:30 p.m. — The Schola Cantorum presents its annual "A Child's Christmas in Wales," in which music is interpolated into a full reading of the famous Dylan Thomas poem by professor Henry Runkles, at the Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center.
  • Dec. 15, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. — Schola Cantorum will appear with the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas at the Walton Arts Center on Dickson Street as part of "A Very SoNA Christmas," singing an a cappella arrangment of "Deck the Halls" by Pentatonix, and choruses from Handel's Messiah.

Tickets for all events at the Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center are available at faulkner.uark.edu, and tickets to SoNA's concert are available through the Walton Arts Center box office.
