Members of the Inspirational Chorale sing 'Alleluia' in their first concert of the fall semester titled, 'The Heart of Worship,' under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Murdock.

The UA Inspirational Chorale will put on its final performance of the semester, "Let Heaven and Nature Sing," under the direction of Jeffrey Murdock at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center.

This spectacular holiday production will feature gospel-style Christmas music, traditional caroling hymns, and pop renditions of classic Christmas songs along with a full brass section, percussionists and guest soloists.

The Inspirational Chorale initially began in 1977 as the primary diversity initiative on campus, providing a place for students of color to come, sing, and fellowship with one another in their home away from home.

Now, the Inspirational Chorale, both a registered student organization and a choral ensemble, consists of more than 60 members of all ethnic backgrounds and languages and a full band, and its primary mission is to keep the black sacred music tradition alive and relevant within today's culture.

The Inspirational Chorale performs several times throughout the semester on campus at various events within the Northwest Arkansas community, and across the world, recently returning from tours to Jamaica, Ireland, China, Memphis, and other locations. Each performance that the Inspirational Chorale puts on varies, utilizing the arts in music, costuming, drama, dance and art, to tell the story of the history of black sacred music in every form.

Tickets for purchase are on the UA Box Office website. The Inspirational Chorale can also be found on Facebook, under @UofAInspirationalChorale and Instagram, under @uainspirationalchorale.
