Free Webinar to Discuss Data Analytics and Emerging Real-World Uses

The campus community and members of the public are invited to a free webinar at noon Tuesday, Nov. 27, titled "Introduction to Data Analytics and Emerging Real-World Use Cases."

This webinar is part of the Engineering and Operations Management Lunch and Learn Webinar Series.

The webinar will introduce the foundation of data analytics, beginning with a description of the mathematical and statistical modeling aspects of various levels of data analytics (i.e., descriptive, predictive and prescriptive).  Attendees will also hear an overview of data analytics in real-world problems including healthcare analytics, retail analytics and financial analytics.

The webinar will feature Art Chaovalitwongse, professor of industrial engineering and co-director of the Institute of Advanced Data Analytics.

Chaovalitwongse holds the 21st Century Leadership Chair in Engineering and has numerous academic honors, including an NSF Faculty Early Career Development award, Facebook Distinguished Faculty Award and, most recently, the 2018 Technical Innovation in Industrial Engineering Award by the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers.

He serves as department editor, associate editor and Editorial Board member of 10 leading international journals. He has edited four books and published more than 175 research articles.
