Staff Senate Hosts Forum Today With Legislative Candidates

Staff Senate is hosting a legislative forum from 2-3 p.m. today, Oct. 24, in the auditorium in the Poultry Science Building, Room 211. Political candidates running for office in our community will be answering questions from staff about issues that are important to our organization and community.

Staff Senate will host the following candidates for a legislative forum:

  • Greg Leding — Senate candidate for District 4 (Fayetteville)

  • Charlie Collins and Denise Garner — House candidates for district 84 (Fayetteville and rural areas east and south of Fayetteville)

  • Gayatri Agnew — House candidate for District 93 (Bentonville).

David Edmark, the event's moderator, will guide the candidates through a question and answer session prior to this year's midterm elections on Nov. 6.

Please feel free to attend this event to ask questions that are important to you and your family. If you are unable to attend in person, the event will be broadcast live via WebEx Meetings with questions being taken from this platform as well. Please direct any questions to ssenate@uark.edu.

Early voting has begun for the Nov. 6 election, and registered voters may cast ballots at during at any of the early-voting sites:

Washington County

The Washington County Election Commission has full details of when the early voting sites are open.

  • Rodeo Community Center, 1423 E. Emma Ave., Springdale.
  • West Fork Community Center, 222 Webber St., West Fork.

Madison County

The Madison County Election Commission has full details on when early voting occurs.

All of the sites are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. All are closed on the Monday before the election, and some are open on Saturdays.
