FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Chuck Ramseyer, who has served in Office of Financial Affairs since 2013, has been named associate controller and senior director of financial management analysis. He was previously director of financial affairs compliance. He is filling the position held by Michael White, who is now associate vice chancellor for financial affairs.

Ramseyer will now assist in the overall operation of the Controller’s Office, will have direct responsibility for managing portions of the U of A’s general ledger and will be key in the development of various financial reports. He will provide guidance to the campus community on the university’s general ledger, revenue handling and reporting and other processes. Ramseyer will also supervise and provide backup to the director of financial and management analysis in compliance oversight and monitoring.

Ramseyer came to the U of A from NorthWest Arkansas Community College, where he served as vice president for finance and treasury services, and worked for more than 11 years with Arkansas Legislative Audit before that.

Sandy Sturgeon, formerly the associate director of internal audit, will take over Ramseyer’s duties as the new director of financial and management analysis. In her new role, she will create and execute review plans for financial and management operations of the university to ensure proper internal controls and compliance with policies, procedures, laws and regulations. She will also serve as the U of A’s primary liaison for all audit engagements, and will generally serve as a resource to campus stakeholders.

Sturgeon served as associate director of internal audit since 2016 and had extensive governmental and corporate internal audit experience before joining the university.
