FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Tory Gaddy has been named director of development and external relations for the University of Arkansas School of Law. In this position she will manage the school's major gift portfolios and lead a seven-member team of professionals focusing on fundraising, communications, donor and alumni relations, scholarships and outreach.

"Tory's energy, poise and work ethic are evident to our students, faculty, staff and alumni," said Margaret Sova McCabe, dean of the school. "She takes on every new challenge as an opportunity for learning and growth. In her three short years with the School of Law she has been an integral part of engaging the Law Alumni Society, strengthening the All Alumni Reunion Weekend, connecting with current students and alumni, developing the Dean's Circle and meeting our Campaign Arkansas goals."

Gaddy joined the University of Arkansas in 2012 as an administrative support supervisor in University Development. She was quickly promoted to development manager for the College of Engineering and then to the college's assistant director of development. She moved to the law school in 2015 and was promoted to associate director in 2017.

"Tory has the leadership experience to excel in this position," said Katy Nelson, associate vice chancellor for development. "She is already a dynamic asset to the team in the School of Law and will do a wonderful job working with Dean McCabe to further the school's vision."

While in the College of Engineering, Gaddy coordinated the college's Dean's Advisory Council and campaign committee, planned and executed the alumni awards banquet, and helped jumpstart the development of the Early Career Advisory Council.

"I am proud to be a part of a team that reached its first Campaign Arkansas fundraising goal," Gaddy said. "I look forward to leading our challenge to meet a stretch goal and to working on the many projects our team and the school's leadership manage daily."

Gaddy is an alumna of the University of Arkansas and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences. Prior to her experience at the university, Gaddy spent two years as a youth director for First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith and 10 years as the owner of a mural company, also in Fort Smith.

She replaces Patti Cox, who retired as senior director of development and external relations after nine years with the School of Law and 14 years with the University of Arkansas.
