Researcher of Sexual Violence on Campuses to Speak at U of A

Chris Linder, who studies sexual violence on college campuses through a power-conscious framework, will speak three times on the University of Arkansas campus this week.

Linder is an assistant professor of higher education at the University of Utah. She is the author of Sexual Violence on Campus: Power-Conscious Approaches to Awareness, Prevention, and Response published by Emerald Publishing Limited.

She will speak at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, in Room 504 of the Arkansas Union. Her presentation, "Power-Conscious Approaches to Addressing Sexual Assault on Campus," is sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs Professional Development Committee. Lunch will be provided but space is limited so online RSVP is required.

Linder will also visit two higher education courses and speak with students who have read Sexual Violence on Campus. On Tuesday, Oct. 9, she will meet with doctoral students in the Introduction to the Study of Higher Education course. Linder will address master's students in the Introduction to Student Affairs course in the afternoon on Wednesday, Oct. 10.

Her appearances are part of the Higher Education Speaker Series sponsored by the higher education program, Pat Walker Health Center and the Division of Student Affairs.
