360 UNIV Mentor Applications Now Available

The 360 UNIV Mentor is a first-year transition leadership position designed to engage first-year students academically and socially by fostering a greater connection to campus and educational resources.

Mentors will work with students enrolled across the various 360 UNIV 1001 courses as part of the redesigned University Perspectives course for the fall 2018 semester. The goal of this leadership opportunity is to strengthen the first-year experience by connecting students with an academically successful mentor who is an established student leader.

The mentoring programs pairs students from selected 360 sections of the University Perspective course with a mentor in order to assist, connect and increase retention rates for students from first year to second year. Through this relationship, the goal is to provide an increased sense of connection and understanding of expectations that lead to academic success of first-year students.

Mentor position descriptions and applications are available at nsfp.uark.edu through 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 24. For more information, contact the New Student & Family Programs at 479-575-5002 or nsfp@uark.edu.
