The University of Arkansas will officially welcome the freshman class of 2022, and all new students, at the New Student Welcome on Sunday Aug. 19 at 5:30 p.m. on the Arkansas Union Mall. Family and friends can view the event live on Facebook.

The New Student Welcome event will be broadcast live on Facebook at the University of Arkansas Division of Student Affairs Facebook page, which can be found at facebook.com/ua4student.

"New Student Welcome serves as the official welcome for new students at the University of Arkansas," said Larry Cloud, associate director of New Student and Family Programs. "We encourage all new students to come out to meet their fellow members of the Class of 2022, Chancellor Joe Steinmetz and Associated Student Government President J.P. Gairhan, who will both speak at the event." 

There will be performances by the Razorback Marching Band and the Razorback Spirit Squads at the event. Immediately following New Student Welcome program, students will take part in the official welcome back picnic, sponsored by Chartwells Dining.

Traditionally popular events during Welcome Weeks include New Student Welcome and Burger Bash, Razorbash, Back to School Bingo, Academic College Welcome Events, UARK Cardinal Night and the Freshman Pep Rally. 

Welcome Weeks activities conclude on Saturday, September 1st with the first Razorback home football game. Students should visit http://welcomeweeks.uark.edufor a full list of activities and events taking place during Hog W.I.L.D. Welcome Weeks. The website also includes directions for downloading the Welcome Weeks mobile app by Guidebook.

In case of rain the event will be cancelled.
