U of A Kinesiology Student Selected to Attend Prestigious Summer Law Program

Evan Forte, a senior kinesiology major from Little Rock, will attend the Donald J. Weidner Summer for Undergraduates program at the Florida State University College of Law. He is one of 60 students from numerous American colleges and universities selected to attend the four-week program in Tallahassee.

The program, which runs from May 21 to June 15, is designed to acquaint students with the study of law and to assist them in acquiring skills that will benefit their undergraduate and future law school studies. Students will have the opportunity to visit the Florida Supreme Court and State Capitol, network with prominent attorneys in a variety of practice areas, participate in moot court oral arguments, and receive LSAT preparation. Founded in 1992, the Summer for Undergraduates program is the oldest program of its kind.

Forte holds a 3.5 GPA and is heavily involved on campus and in the Fayetteville community, volunteering with the M&N Augustine Foundation, Boys and Girls Clubs and Special Olympics of Northwest Arkansas, and Fayetteville High School. In April 2018, he was awarded College Brother of the Year by the Southwestern Region of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Upon completion of his undergraduate studies this fall, Forte plans to pursue a master's degree in sport management and begin a career as a football coach.
