Information Meeting for UA Jazz, Improv, and Commercial Music Ensembles

The Department of Music in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences invites students to an informational meeting about performing in the many jazz, improv, and commercial music ensembles starting in fall 2018. The meeting will be held in the International Connections Lounge at the Arkansas Union building at 4 p.m.  Thursday, April 26. Free pizza will be provided by the department.

The department has many jazz and commercial music ensembles that any U of A student, regardless of major, can join by audition: Big Band, Combo, Latin American Ensemble, Inspired Soul Band, World Music Ensemble, Beginning Jazz Combo, and Singer/Songwriter Ensemble. Any interested students can sign up for an audition, which will take place during the first week of the fall 2018 semester.

The meeting will provide more information about the ensembles as well as the audition process. This meeting is open to all currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students. Students with any level of performance experience are encouraged to attend the meeting. For questions about the meeting or the audition, please contact professors Jacob B. Hertzog at jhertzog@uark.edu or Joon Park atjoonpark@uark.edu.
