Crime Scene Competition and Guest Speaker Event

Lambda Alpha Epsilon, a criminal justice RSO, is sponsoring the first Crime Scene Competition from 1-4 p.m. Friday, April 27. Student teams of up to five individuals are encouraged to register by emailing Lauren Sabon in the Department of Scociology and Criminal Justice at copley@uark.edu with their team's names to be assigned a time to compete.

An investigation kit will be provided. No experience is necessary, just a desire to have fun and learn!

While the competition is occurring, there will also be a series criminal justice and forensics-related guest speakers in Giffels Auditorium from 1-4 p.m. Each speaker will discuss their topic for 15-20 minutes. Come out and learn about many interesting topics and possible career paths. Light snacks will be provided.

Guest speakers include:

  • 1 p.m. – FBI
  • 1:30 p.m. – University of Arkansas Police Department
  • 2 p.m. – Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force
  • 2:30 p.m. – Dr. Lampinen, eyewitness Identification
  • 2:45 p.m. – Dr. Crawford-Jozkowski, child welfare
  • 3 p.m. – Dr. Panda, digital forensics
  • 3:30 p.m. – Justin Goggans, West Fork Police Department
  • 3:45 p.m. – Dr. Stites, forensic chemistry
