Please join the Dan Flowers Distinguished Lecture today, April 20, where Melissa Tooley will address 'Preparing for Automated and Connected Vehicles.'

The lecture is open to the public, and will take place in White Engineering Hall, Room 209 from 3-4 pm.

Tooley received her bachelor's degree from Louisiana Tech University, and master's degree and a doctorate from the University of Arkansas. She currently serves as the director of external initiatives for Texas A&M Transportation Institute and was the former Mack-Blackwell Transportation Center director for the University of Arkansas. She was inducted into the Arkansas Academy of Civil Engineering in 2006, where she was recognized for upholding extremely high ethics and standards and making significant contributions to the civil engineering profession.

Following the lecture, a reception will be held honoring this year's Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Recipients: Joseph Daniels, Michael Deschenes, Casey Jones, Maggie Langston, and Sadie Smith.

This lecture is sponsored by the Mack-Blackwell Transportation Center and the Maritime Transportation Research and Education Center (MarTREC) at the University of Arkansas.
