Christina Wampler

Christina Wampler is an Interlibrary Loan lending specialist with the University Libraries, and her role directly aligns with the U of A's guiding principle of reaffirming our land-grant and flagship responsibilities and also indirectly relates to the principle of enhancing research.

She lends our materials out to other libraries in Arkansas and across the world — some items going all the way to Hong Kong, China or across Australia. In fact, the lending staff filled an average 200 requests per month from other Arkansas libraries in 2017.

Filling lending requests allows Wampler to maintain great resource-sharing relationships with other universities, organizations and public libraries so that in turn they are willing to allow the University of Arkansas to borrow materials for our students, staff and faculty. Last year, the Interlibrary Loan department filled around 58,000 requests, which is not surprising given the priority Wampler and her colleagues place on establishing a quick turn-around time for both borrowing and lending requests.

Wampler is working toward a Master of Science in Library Science at the University of North Texas, and she recently finished the Supervisor Development Program.
