U of A Students and Chartwells Dining Teaming up for #OneMillionActsOfGood

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Chartwells Dining and students on the University of Arkansas campus have been selected to participate in General Mills “Good Goes Round” campaign. The initiative, kicked off earlier this year, combines healthy eating with volunteerism and community give-back opportunities.

U of A students and Chartwells volunteers will join an assembly line to pack 300 “Matter Boxes,” filled with healthy snacks donated by Chartwells, and including personal notes of encouragement written by the students.

The “pack-out” will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in the lobby area of the U of A Center for Multicultural and Diversity Education in the Arkansas Union.

The “Matter Boxes” will be distributed to local children in after-school programs, with 30 boxes going to the Yvonne Richardson Community Center and the remaining 270 going to the Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club.

The “Matter Boxes” are meant to express to each chjild how much they matter as a part of the local community while encouraging them to eat the kinds of healthy foods contained in the boxes.
