Doctoral Student to Give Research Presentation Today on Muscle Loss with Aging

Ashley Binns, a University of Arkansas doctoral student in exercise science, will give a research presentation titled "Sarcopenia: Prevalence, Clinical Relevance and Future Directions" from 3 to 4 p.m. today, Feb. 2, in Room 316 of the Health, Physical Education and Research Building.

Sarcopenia is the loss of muscle mass as we age.

Michelle Gray, associate professor of exercise science, is Binns' adviser.

The presentations are part of the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation Research Seminar Series. The seminars are free and open to the public. The series is intended to expose students and faculty to research being conducted in the department.
