U of A to Host SEC Parent Programs Summit

New Student & Family Programs in the Division of Student Affairs will host professionals from the Southeastern Conference for the 2018 SEC Parent Programs Summit this week.

This is the first time that the summit will take place at the University of Arkansas. Topics for discussion will including family weekend programming, regional outreach, health & wellbeing, engagement, and program assessment.

Quincy Spencer, director of New Student & Family Programs, said, "We are excited to bring our colleagues to the University of Arkansas to highlight some of the innovative programs and services that we provide parents and family members during their students tenure at the U of A."

Representatives from the University of Alabama, Auburn, University of Kentucky, Mississippi State, University of Mississippi, Louisiana State University, University of South Carolina, University of Florida and Texas A&M will be on campus Thursday and Friday for the summit.

Justin McCormick, coordinator of Parent and Family Programs, said, "This is an exciting time for parent and family programming across the country and some of the best initiatives are being developed right here in the SEC, so we are eager to learn and network with our colleagues."
