Commit to Well is a campuswide incentive challenge hosted by UARK Wellness during the month of February. The purpose of the challenge is to encourage the U of A community to explore the wide variety of wellness opportunities around campus while focusing on the eight dimensions of wellness. The eight dimensions are social, environmental, occupational, spiritual, financial, emotional, intellectual and physical.

Participants earn points for doing any type of physical activity and completing a variety of wellness challenges. The fitness and wellness points earned will determine the prizes awarded at the completion of the challenge.

"Participation in the challenge last year really kept me motivated toward my personal goals," said Justin Cook, doctoral candidate in the Counselor Education Program.

"It sparked a desire to do well and complete the challenge. The website made it easy to track my physical and wellness activities, and the prizes were a nice reward."

Participants may sign up for the challenge and log the completion of the fitness and wellness activities beginning today, Feb. 1. at committowell.uark.edu or urec.uark.edu/fitness/special-events.

"This event is free and open to all university faculty, staff and students," said Casey Fant, assistant director of fitness wellness for University Recreation.

"We want to encourage and promote health and wellness across the campus community."

More information regarding UARK Wellness can be found at wellness.uark.edu which serves as an outreach tool and resource bank for the campus community.
