Now Hiring R.O.C.K. Camp 2018 Mentors
R.O.C.K. Camp is now accepting applications for 2018 Mentors. Applications are due by at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7. Applications and position descriptions can be found at the R.O.C.K. Camp staff mentor page.
R.O.C.K. (Razorback Outreach for Community and Knowledge) Camp is an extended orientation program designed to help new students gain valuable insight and knowledge about their new home at the University of Arkansas. R.O.C.K. Camp and R.O.C.K. Camp Adventure continues to succeed because of the student mentor staff. R.O.C.K. Camp Mentors help create lasting friendships and welcome new students into the Razorback family by learning traditions, engaging in service, and setting the tone for a successful college career.
According to sophomore Ryan Martin, "Being a R.O.C.K. Camp mentor is a great position because it helps teach you how to be a better leader. You get to help incoming freshmen learn traditions and participate in all of the R.O.C.K. Camp activities. It's a lot of fun and you get great work experience out of it as well."
Sophomore Callie Malone goes on to say that being a mentor, "Is an amazing opportunity to meet and get involved in a new students life and make sure that their first impression of the University of Arkansas is a positive one."
Both Martin and Malone serve as members of the 2018 R.O.C.K. Camp Student Coordinator Team in addition to Yvonne Dominguez, Samantha Wallace, Emily Cook and Alice Gardner.
It is strongly recommended that all applicants attend one of the scheduled information session which will be held on the sixth floor of the Arkansas Student Union in A640 (above Club Red) from 5-5:30 p.m. on the following dates:

During the information sessions, applicants will meet R.O.C.K. Camp staff members, learn about what it takes to be a successful mentor, and participate in small group discussions with previous mentors to gain a better understanding of the mentor experience.
