Hunter Wilson, a University of Arkansas senior and co-president of the campus chapter of the American Marketing Association, took first place in the social media competition at the association's regional Entertainment Marketing Conference at Florida International University in Miami.

More than 100 representatives from universities in the southeast United States and the University of Wisconsin attended the conference. Attending from the University of Arkansas were Wilson; Lindsey Simpson, a junior and chapter co-president; Andrew Bickford, a junior who is chapter chief financial officer, and Owen Lee, a junior chapter member.

At the conference, students competed in the sales competition, marketing competition and social media competition. With his first-place social media presentation, Wilson received a free, four-month account from Spotify, which judged the competition. Other professionals at the conference included executives from Walt Disney, LIV Miami and Life in Color.

Simpson said the conference was an excellent opportunity for the U of A members to learn about the importance of video content in marketing, careers in entertainment marketing and to prepare for the association's intercollegiate conference in the spring.

Goose Head Insurance sponsored the U of A students' trip to the conference.
