Kimpel Hall to Be Closed for Electrical Repairs Dec. 18 to Jan. 7
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Kimpel Hall will be closed and the power to the building will be shut off from Monday, Dec. 18 through Sunday, Jan. 7. A contractor will be working with Facilities Management to remove and replace an aging transformer and high voltage equipment that dates back to when Kimpel Hall was first built.
Modern, safer and more reliable equipment will be installed in its place.
Because the building will not have electricity and due to the inherent hazards associated with construction, faculty, staff, students and visitors will not be allowed to enter the building. All doors to Kimpel Hall will be locked and entry will be limited to people working on the project and will be managed by the contractor.
Emergency power needed for the project and to operate critical equipment, such as fire alarms, will be produced by the generators provided by the contractor.
