International Dress Day, International Jersey Day Planned for Next Week

University of Arkansas students, staff and faculty are invited to participate in International Dress Day on Monday, Nov. 13, by wearing cultural items or clothing from around the world. Scarves, hats, sports jerseys or other items of meaningful international dress are all appropriate.
A group photo of those in international dress will be taken during the International Bazaar at 11 a.m., in the Arkansas Union International Connections Lounge, and International Dress Day participants will be invited to share the stories behind their items of dress. The International Bazaar will showcase international cultures on campus through cultural information tables, presentations and performances. Winners of the study abroad photo contest will be announced at the International Bazaar as well.
Additionally, students are encouraged to participate in International Jersey Day, by wearing a jersey or shirt that represents their favorite sports team or athlete on Thursday, Nov. 16.
Students participating in International Dress Day and International Jersey Day are invited to share photos of their international wear on social media using #IEWelcomeUARK.
International Dress Day and International Jersey Day are part of the campus' International Education Week celebrations. All members of the campus community are invited to participate in International Education Week. International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of the University of Arkansas' efforts to promote programs that prepare students for a global environment and to attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences in the United States.
