Graduate Students in English Post Call for Proposals for Interdisciplinary Graduate Conference

The Graduate Students in English Organization invites graduate students from the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences to propose individual papers and panels by Jan. 12, 2018, for the spring GSE Interdisciplinary Conference, whose theme is "Authority: Questioning Power Structures Within the Humanities and Beyond."

We envision this interdisciplinary conference to produce dynamic literary, cultural, and historical interpretations and critiques of texts from across the humanities, fine arts, and social sciences.

We welcome proposals for individual papers and encourage proposals for panels on, but not limited to, the following aspects of authority in the humanities: writing history, inventing the canon, theorizing power, segregating power, protecting human rights, regulating reproductive rights, and authorizing bodies and movement.

Of course, we welcome all creative and scholarly work on any aspect of authority in the humanities, fine arts, and social sciences.

Please send your individual paper proposals and panel proposals to gsearkansas@gmail.com by Jan. 12, 2018. Proposals should consist of a title and abstract, including all relevant email addresses.
