U of A Issues Annual Alcohol and Other Drug Policy Notification for Students, Faculty and Staff

The University of Arkansas encourages all members of the U of A community to familiarize themselves with the annual Alcohol and Other Drug Policy notification, which can be found here.

"We strive to provide a teaching and learning environment that supports healthy choices, and fosters student and employee success," said Asher Morgan, alcohol and other drug specialist in the Pat Walker Health Center. "Sometimes the choices that confront people are decisions about the use of alcohol and other substances. The U of A has many resources to help, and they can be found in the policy Alcohol & Other Drug Policy statement."

This annual notification is required by the U.S. Department of Higher Education and provides the campus community with the following information:

  1. Drug and Alcohol programs available to employees and/or students
  2. Health risks associated with alcohol abuse and illicit drug use
  3. Standards of conduct and disciplinary sanctions for students regarding alcohol and drug use
  4. Standards of conduct and disciplinary sanctions for employees regarding alcohol and drug use
  5. Federal and state legal sanctions

The Pat Walker Health Center on the U of A campus provides professional and comprehensive medical and mental health care, wellness support and health promotion for students, faculty, and staff.
