UAConnect Upgrade Slated for October

UAConnect has a new look. When users log in to the updated student information system on Wednesday, Oct. 18, they will be greeted with a new, modern look and feel. The use of graphic tiles and a different color scheme also create a faster and cleaner interface.

The new system offers Fluid technology for most users. And with the new technology comes new terminology. Homepages are replacing the current Student Center, Faculty Center and Advisor Center. Homepages contain the same information as the centers, but give users a faster, more efficient way to access the data.

Administrative users also have a homepage in the new UAConnect. This page can be modified to include tiles based on job needs. Fluid is also mobile-friendly and automatically recognizes mobile devices and adapts the page to the correct layout. You can sneak a peek at the new homepages by going to our UAConnect upgrade website.

"While the initial landing pages will look very different, users will discover many of the pages they use daily look very much the same," explained Dave Dawson, associate vice provost for enrollment services and university registrar. "The response we've received from our testing groups has been overwhelmingly positive for the new system and we are looking forward to having it available to the campus."

The UAConnect team began work on the Campus Solutions 9.2 upgrade two years ago without extensive help from outside consultants. "We are fortunate to have a very talented team working on UAConnect," Dawson continued. "Because they are so knowledgeable we have been able to see a significant savings over the normal cost of a system upgrade."

The UAConnect Training Team will present an overview of the changes all users will see with the upgrade. A live demonstration of the new look and feel of UAConnect will also be included. All users are invited to attend, and no registration is required. Sessions will run from 9-10 a.m. and 10-11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 9 and from 2:30-3:30 p.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct.10. All sessions will be held in MULN 104.

The upgrade schedule and additional information about the new UAConnect is available on our Help-UAConnect website. Please don't hesitate to contact the UAConnect team at uac@uark.edu if you have any questions or concerns.
