Doctoral Students to Give Research Presentations Friday
University of Arkansas students Matthew Stone and Jacob Brown will give presentations on their research from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8 in Room 311 of the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building.
Stone's talk is titled "Body Composition and Muscular Performance Following 8 Weeks of Resistance Training and Protein Supplementation: Pilot Study." He is a doctoral candidate in kinesiology, and his faculty adviser is Michelle Gray. He is a member of the Office for Studies on Aging.
Brown's talk is titled "Cancer-Induced Muscle Wasting." He is a doctoral candidate in cellular and molecular biology, and his faculty adviser is Nicholas Greene. He is a member of the Integrative Muscle Metabolism Laboratory.
The presentations are part of the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation Research Seminar Series. The seminars are free and open to the public. The series is intended to expose students and faculty to research being conducted in the department.
