University Housing's Night Market Features International Food and Culture

University Housing is organizing the annual Night Market from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, to promote learning about different cultures. Night Market will be at the Hawkins Family Terrace, which is located at the Agriculture, Family, Life Science Building (AFLS). The event is free, and all students are invited.

At the event, people from 15 countries will host booths offering foods customary to their homelands. Students will be able to learn about their peers' cultures and try food from their native countries.

Individual booths will also have table displays that will contain information about the 15 countries. India, Egypt and the Bahamas are among the countries represented at Night Market.

Night Market will feature live music from the International Culture Team Band.

Night Market began in 2009 and has become an award-winning program. Night Market has won both the Residents' Interhall Congress Program of the Year award and the Southwest Association of College and University Housing Officers Institutional Diversity award twice.

About @Home: Night Market is a part of @Home, a University Housing series. @Home events focus on tenets University Housing promotes such as academic success, personal development and diversity education. The series includes 14 events throughout the 2016-17 school year.
