Off-Campus Living Orientation to Be Held April 11

Students who are looking to move off campus or currently live off are invited to attend this educational session to get oriented to life off campus. This workshop will focus on city codes students need to know about, how to be a good neighbor, and tips for having a seamless transition to living in the vibrant community that surrounds the University of Arkansas.

The Living Off Campus Orientation will be held from 4-5 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, in the Arkansas Union Verizon Ballroom. Students who plan on living off campus for fall 2017 should make sure they know city ordinances before embarking in off-campus life in order to have the best possible experience.

Off-Campus Student Services and the Office of Student Standards and Conduct are hosting the workshop and will also briefly cover how to search for local off-campus housing on the university's official off-campus housing website, offcampushousing.uark.edu.

The University of Arkansas requires first-year students to live on campus, with few exceptions. As students advance in their collegiate career, they tend to move off campus into apartments and other rental properties in the local community, an experience that can be new and overwhelming for many students.
