Are You Signed Up for Emergency and Inclement Weather Notifications?
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas emergency notification system – RazALERT -- sends messages to students, faculty and staff any time there is a threat to campus safety — anything from severe weather to an act of terrorism.
It’s also the system that lets you know if classes are canceled, offices are closed, or if the U of A is opening late because of snow, ice or other inclement weather.
RazALERT (pronounced “raise alert”) emergency messages are automatically sent to the entire campus community by email and campus phone. However you have to sign up to get an emergency notice as text message or call to your home phone.
You also have to sign up if you want to receive inclement weather notices – email, phone, or text.
Students can sign up through their UAConnect account. You can update numbers or addresses, add numbers as well, and give permission to receive text and inclement weather messages.
Faculty and staff sign up and provide their information and permission through their webBASIS accounts.
Full instructions on how to check or update your information are on the university Emergency Preparedness website.
