Project Unify to Host Veterans Appreciation Breakfast

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Members of the Razorback women's basketball team, in conjunction with Project Unify, are inviting University of Arkansas students, faculty and staff and members of the community to a Veterans Appreciation Breakfast at Bud Walton Arena. The focus of the breakfast is to bring members of the community together to show appreciation for those who serve our country and fought for our freedoms.

The breakfast will be from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, on the south concourse of Bud Walton Arena. The event is free and food will be provided by the women's basketball team. Those attending the breakfast should enter through doors at the south entrance of Bud Walton Arena located on Leroy Pond Drive. Parking for the breakfast will be available in Lots 60, 56D and 56B adjacent to Bud Walton Arena.

"We are inviting our fellow students, those on campus and those throughout our community to join us for a Veterans Appreciation Breakfast at Bud Walton Arena," women's basketball student-athlete Jailyn Mason said. "We want to hold this event to connect with the community and give back to those who fought for our freedoms."

The breakfast is the first public event organized by Project Unify, a community engagement program created by members of the women's basketball team and implemented in coordination with University of Arkansas campus leadership to help raise awareness and to initiate dialogue on important societal issues. Project Unify is designed to engage members of the community and law enforcement, to strengthen mutual trust, respect and understanding. Plans for additional outreach opportunities and events are also being developed as part of the program.
